WHITCHURCH TOWN COUNCIL GRANTS 2013
The Town Council has revised its processes for the award of ‘Town Council Grants’. We believe the new process will make it easier for Whitchurch people or organisations to apply for grants and for the community to know who has been given a grant, and what the money is being spent on.
Anyone living in Whitchurch,or any local community group is entitled to apply for an award. The Council has put aside £1,500.00 of its budget for the Town Council grants. The conditions are very simple in that the award must be for the benefit of the citizens of Whitchurch. Each award will have a limit of £250.00 as the aim of the Council is to spread the money as widely as possible within the Town.
The grant funding period will start from 1st |June 2013 and terminate the following 31st March. The reason for starting in June is so that all individuals or organisations will have time to consider whether their project or initiative will benefit from a grant, and put together a strong application. From April 2013 the application process will be open, and all it requires to be considered for a grant is a letter to the Council, explaining what the grant will be used for and how it will benefit the community in general,or a particular community group. The first set of awards will be made the following June, and throughout the rest of the year, while the fund lasts.
Details of the awards will be advertised as widely as possible from next April with the basic rules for applications. Those who are awarded a grant will be published on the Town Council website and in the Parish Magazine. Please send your applications to:
