I greatly enjoyed supporting local events and inaugurating the ‘Mayor’s Charity’ which in my term of office I used to support the Youth of Whitchurch. I was also proud to be involved with both the topping out ceremony and, with Paul Nethercott in opening the Gill Nethercott Centre.
2004 –2005

It was indeed an honour to be voted Mayor of Whitchurch by the Town Council and a privilege for my wife as Mayoress and I to meet residents of the town during my year in office, many of whom are now lasting friends,a most interesting and enjoyable year.
2002 –2004
Barry Jackman
I have to say first of all it was a great honour to be called to represent our town as Mayor during the two years 2002 to 2004. My wife Sandra and I attended many and varied events both locally and within Hampshire. One of the highlight was to be able to decorate the Town Hall with flags, bunting and lights for the Queens Golden Jubilee. It was also a great privilege to e able to have erected and dedicated the Golden Jubilee Memorial in the cemetery.
At times Sandra and I met ourselves coming back, such was the number of engagements that we were both invited to and those we decided to gate crash (I know some of you will remember them).
Above all the townsfolk were a real blessing to us as they made us most welcome both during our mayoral years and still do today. Thank you all for allowing us to serve you.
2001 –2002
Norman Tayler
2000 –2001
Roy J Smith
During my period on the Town Council we successfully reformed the way we did business;reached out with limited success for more public participation;and set in motion or continued projects that have subsequently borne fruit like the Gill Nethercott Centre and the cemetery extension. My personal greatest pleasure was the chance to thank health professional for all their dedication, kindness and hard work in looking after us in Whitchurch.
1999 –2000,2005 –2006
Irene Clark
Each of my two Terms of Office were very much enjoyed, and I appreciated the fact that my fellow councillors had faith in me. One outstanding occasion which I will always remember was being “snowed”upon from a window above, when turning on the Christmas Lights at the Town Hall in December 2005.
1996 –1999
Gill Nethercott
1995 –1996
John Ruthven-Fox
1992 –1995
Kenneth Clark
In my 3 years in office I enjoyed every minute of it.
