The final preparations are now in place for this exciting annual event,fingers crossed it does not rain or snow!
I am delighted to announce that we have new Christmas lights this year on the Town Hall frontage which have been generously donated and installed by a local business,the Planned Lighting Company. The Town Council are extremely grateful for this very kind gesture and look forward to the festive atmosphere they will bring to the town this Christmas and for many years to come. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do.
Thanks also to the Co-op who have joined in the community spirit with tins of chocolates for everyone to dip into and enjoy during the evening celebrations.
We will kick off proceedings at 6pm outside the Town Hall with a variety of good sounds to get us in the mood with the popular Singing for Fun group. Students from Testbourne School will follow on with their own brand of musical entertainment. We are delighted to announce there will be guest appearances from actors Luke Roberts and Brian Wheeler who are currently appearing in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at the Anvil in Basingstoke. Our very own local celebrities the Whitchurch Carnival Queen and Princess will also be there. Together they will join me,the Mayor,in the grand tradition of switching on the lights and the start of Christmas activities throughout the town.
