Whitchurch Town Council is extremely pleased to announce that free organic compost will be made available from outside the Winchester Road allotment site in November.
Following the successful allotment competition organised by the Town Council this year, our main sponsor Jody Scheckter of Laverstoke Park Farm, has kindly offered to supply 20 cubic metres (a large lorry load!) of organic compost which is made at his farm in Overton.
He is supplying the compost free of charge to allotment holders and gardeners in Whitchurch on a first come, first served basis. The haulier is also waiving his charge so this really is a free offer.
The compost will arrive on Friday 9th November and be delivered adjacent to the Winchester Road allotment site. Just bring your bags or sacks and fill up.
The high quality compost will considerably improve the quality of the soil and in turn, improve the quality and quantity of vegetables grown on the allotment site or in your garden at home.
So get along as soon as you can. Once it’s gone….
